Hi, I’m Alicia Bolognese, LICSW
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts and Maine, I bring over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. I have had the honor of helping individuals navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
Throughout my career, I've gained extensive experience in crisis management and stabilization, supporting individuals through some of life's most difficult moments.
I understand how overwhelming life can feel at times. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, major life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you can gain clarity, reconnect with your strengths, and move forward with confidence.
My strengths-based, person-centered approach combines compassion with practical, realistic strategies for personal growth. I believe therapy should be a collaborative experience where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes at your own pace.
I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and integrate mindfulness, guided imagery, and a holistic perspective, recognizing the important connection between mind, body, and emotional well-being.
Above all, I strive to bring a nurturing, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental presence to every session. I want you to feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are, knowing that we can work together to explore what's holding you back, develop practical tools, and create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy traveling, swimming, gardening, walking my dogs along the beach, and spending quality time with my family.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I'll take time to understand what brings you to therapy, what challenges you're facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. There's no pressure to share everything right away. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe everyone has strengths they can build upon, even during life's most challenging moments. I combine practical strategies with a holistic perspective that considers the connection between mind, body, and emotional well-being. Together, we'll explore what works best for you and develop tools to help you feel more confident and empowered in your everyday life.

You don't need to be experiencing a crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek support when they're feeling overwhelmed, navigating relationships, adjusting to life changes, or simply wanting to better understand themselves. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or feeling stuck, therapy can provide a space to gain clarity, develop healthier patterns, and move forward with greater confidence.

Yes! I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBS MA). Coverage and out-of-pocket costs vary depending on your specific plan. Our practice can help you navigate insurance questions and understand your benefits before getting started.
If you do not have BCBS, we offer a self-pay rate of $175. We can also provide you with a detailed invoice to submit to your insurance for out of network reimbursement. More on that here.

Yes! I have completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that can help individuals process distressing experiences and reduce their emotional impact. If you're interested in EMDR, we can discuss whether it might be a helpful part of your treatment.
