Yoga as Therapy

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.”

Our bodies keep score of our pain, joy, trauma, relief. It’s all there.

Pause for a moment, notice where you may be holding tension. As you become aware, you may naturally release and let it go. Or, you may find that even the prompt to explore bodily sensation provokes an overwhelming and uncomfortable feeling of resistance and panic.

The practice of yoga allows us to develop a relationship to our body that is rooted in self-compassion, non-judgment, and healing.

Eastern Counseling’s founder, Kaitlin, offers you a practice that is gentle, patient and nourishing. Through breath-work and restorative movement, we can go beyond the bounds of talk therapy to enhance treatment through incorporating the body.

Kaitlin has completed over 400 hours of training in yoga therapy, mindfulness meditation, and traditional yoga practices. She is certified through the Asheville Yoga Center, Soulful Yoga Therapy, and the Mindfulness Academy in Alicante, Spain.

Yoga invites you to feel more alive, more energized, and more fulfilled.

Your Yoga as Therapy session will include:

  1. Brief check-in and review of goals

  2. Guided breath-work

  3. Gentle yoga sequence

  4. Closing meditation

  5. Reflections and self-observations
